Lotus Recalling 860 Cars for Oil Leaks
Lotus Cars USA has announced a recall that affects 860 vehicles which have been fit with a faulty oil cooler hose.
The 2008 to 2011 Elise and Exige along with the 2011 Evora are being called back in because the oil cooler hose may detach, causing oil to spray all over the tires and or the engine compartment. This increases the risk of a collision due to slick tires and it increase the odds of a fire if the oil hits any hot components.

The oil cooler hose assembly will be replace on the Evore while the oil cooler hose fittings will be replaced on the Elise and Exige. Lotus has not yet provided a schedule for the recall.
This isn’t the first time Lotus has recalled these cars for oil leak issues.

Lucky I read this so I will cancel my order and buy a Jaguar F type
I experienced the oil line problem. I'm probably the reason for the recall. Lotus was extremely courteous in doing some major repairs even though I was just out of the warrenty. Awesome company!
