The most researched cars in AutoGuide.com’s vehicle shopping section this week was almost entirely dominated by compact crossovers.

That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering the small utility vehicle segment is outpacing overall growth in vehicle sales, but this week more than the last several showed a pronounced in the way people shopped for cars. Last month, the Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee were both huge sellers for the company. Beyond that, the Ford Escape was also a popularly searched vehicle last week as was the Honda CR-V.

Finally, the Volkswagen Jetta sedan broke the trend and cracked into the top five most researched cars.
