V12-powered vehicles from Mercedes-AMG aren’t going to disappear any time soon. Mercedes-AMG will continue to offer V12-powered vehilces, but future versions will use a hybrid powertrain and an updated version of the current mill. AMG CEO Tobias Moers told AutoCar that the 6.0-liter V12 engine will be extensively re-engineered and will include some element of hybridization in order to satisfy Chinese emissions regulations.

The 4.0-liter biturbo V8 at work in the new AMG GT and C63 will also eventually replace the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 that powers several vehicles in the Mercedes lineup. Mercedes will build its own version of the engine on a standard production line while the AMG versions will be assembled by hand in Affalterbach, Germany.

In order to keep the Big engines living without fail on making all engine turbocrap sportiveless cars from now and on is to apply the MB new "Cylinder manager system" so you can have both a V12 for power/performance and a V6 for city/low consumption and emissions! Merc can do it!!! love Big engines/Sound!!!!
