Is the TT lineup looking to grow with a four-door variant?

Perhaps so, because that’s what Audi showed off tonight as part of the Volkswagen Auto Group night, a showcase taking place on the eve of the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Dubbed the TT Sportback Concept, this is a followup to the TT Allroad Shooting Brake and the TT Offroad that were shown earlier this year at various auto shows.

This car is 11 inches longer, 2.4 inches wider and features a wheelbase that is 4.7 inches longer than the regular TT coupe. This concept also sits 1.2 inches lower. These stretched proportions allows for rear doors that offer more seating space for adults in the back. All four doors of the car are frameless, just like the TT coupe.

2014 Paris Motor Show Coverage

The concept uses a familiar design, borrowing its looks from the regular TT, including the familiar looking LED headlights. The car also sits on large 21-inch wheels. Inside the car uses the high-tech looking virtual cockpit, which is a large 12.3 inch digital dashboard.

The larger TT also features much more storage space, making the car an ideal sport-sedan. Under the hood of the TT Sportback Concept is a 400-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes more power than the TT-S. Mated to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive, the car can hit 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

Damn - I was not keen on the Sportback, but kind of looks cool. I know they stretched the car, but hope it has more headroom than the CLA. 400hp from 2l......what next!
