Hyundai Ix25 Bound for US Market

Hyundai is planning to add a compact crossover to its lineup in the U.S.

According to a report from Automotive News Europe, the ix25 will be heading to Europe and the U.S. starting in 2017, giving Hyundai a competitor in a growing segment of compact crossovers. The ix25 has just gone on sale in China, where it is built and Hyundai’s official statement on the model is that “the car was developed specifically for China.”

Still, with the growth of the crossover segment worldwide, Hyundai is looking for a competitive entry. At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, it unveiled the Intrado concept that further hints at the automaker’s subcompact plans.
