Mazda just announced that it’s become the official automobile sponsor of South by South West (SXSW), a music, film and interactive festival hosted annually in Austin, Texas.

The Japanese company has signed on in this capacity for three years. Executives believe the event is a perfect fit for the “Zoom-Zoom” brand, which appeals to younger motorists and people that enjoy driving.

Of course the folks at SXSW appreciate Mazda’s patronage as one of the event’s super sponsors. The brand isn’t afraid to try new things, which fits hand-in-glove with what this festival is all about.

The upcoming 2015 installment of SXSW is scheduled to take place from March 13 – 22. Mazda’s presence at the festival will be announced at a later date.

I hope they distribute "SkyActiv" branded pills to the crowds as part of the promotion.
