We’re finally getting a glimpse at the Infiniti Q30, a hatchback from the Japanese luxury brand that borrows heavily from Mercedes-Benz. These spy-photos tell the full story of the upcoming small car.

Built on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, the Infiniti Q30 spied testing in these photos was even accompanied by a GLA, likely helping the company set its benchmark.

The German roots go even further than that, under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from Mercedes. That engine will be built here in the U.S. On the other hand, the Infiniti will be built in Sunderland, England. Expect the Q30 to debut alongside a higher-riding version called the QX30 in late 2015.
