Ford has protected a new name that might wind up on one of its trucks.

The title ‘EcoBeast’ has been protected by the American automaker and is categorized as either an automobile or automobile engine. The term is a play on Ford’s EcoBoost lineup of motors, all of which feature turbochargers.

The brand might simply be protecting the name to use it on merchandise, though it could also show up on a Ford vehicle, likely a truck. Rumor has it that Ford will be rolling out the new 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show; a vehicle that would be worthy of the EcoBeast nameplate.
