Toyota will continue its lineup of TRD Pro off-road vehicles with the all-new third-generation Tacoma.

Debuting at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Toyota showed off a Limited trim model and a new TRD Off-Road model. But the new truck’s off-road capability won’t end there.

Jack Hollis, Toyota Motor Sales VP of marketing confirmed to AutoGuide that an even more capable TRD Pro model is in the works, though don’t look for it soon. According to Hollis the TRD Pro Tacoma won’t arrive until at least 2016.

Toyota currently offers a TRD Pro version of the 2015 Tacoma outfitted with Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs and a TRD exhaust as well as a suite of aesthetic upgrades. With the mildest level of tune for the TRD Pro lineup, which includes the Tundra and 4Runner, Hollis didn’t comment on if the new TRD Pro Tacoma will get a beefier setup.

Look for the Tacoma TRD Pro to arrive in 2016.

This is the good news I was waiting for. The 2015 TRD Pro was hot. The 3rd gen should be a blast. I hope they don't take too long!
