Jaguar is preparing to show off the new XF in New York City.

Set to make its official debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, we will be given an early glimpse of the car on March 24 when it performs a daring tightrope walk. Jaguar will send the XF down two 34 mm steel high wires above water to highlight the car’s new lightweight construction.

The second-generation Jaguar XF will be built on the British automaker’s new aluminum-intensive architecture. The redesigned XF will be the second model in Jaguar’s lineup to be built on the new aluminum architecture, following the smaller XE, which goes on sale in Europe starting in May before arriving in the U.S. next year. Expect the 2016 Jaguar XF to be sold in the U.S. this fall.

According to Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum, the new XF is “elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity.” The company will host an event on March 24 in London that will be streamed online with British stuntman Jim Dowdall driving the car along a pair of 1.3-inch diameter wires to demonstrate how lightweight it is.
