The Ferrari LaFerrari Spider reportedly debuted at a private special event last week.

The convertible variant of the LaFerrari has been rumored for over a year now and it was never a surprise that Ferrari would chop the top off its exotic supercar. Motor1 reports that all units of the LaFerrari Spider are already accounted for, with production capped at 150 units although that could increase to 200. The coupe was limited to 499 units, so it appears the convertible will be much more rare and likely cost quite a bit more than the LaFerrari coupe’s $1.5 million or so price tag.

Unfortunately it’s unclear which type of roof configuration the Italian automaker went with for the LaFerrari, but details should be coming out when it makes its official debut. Automotive Passion on Facebook posted an image of what the company likely gave out at the private event, which clearly shows an outline of a drop-top exotic.

Expect it to have the same 963-horsepower found in the LaFerrari coupe but it will weigh a bit more due to being a convertible.
