A cryptic tweet from Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed a fun hidden feature in the Model X crossover and Model S sedan.

“Activate autopilot 4X in quick succession for psychedelic cowbell road,” tweeted Musk. When Tesla owners follow these instructions, the small car that shows on the info cluster screen will appear to be driving on a rainbow road, reminiscent on the famous race track from the Mario Kart video game.

The small car appears when you turn on autopilot, to show the driver where on the road the car thinks it is. By engaging it four times in a row, the normally grey road turns to rainbow.

This strange reveal comes on the same day that Tesla announced a safety recall for the Model X over a concern with the rear seat folding up in a collision.

This isn’t the first Tesla easter egg with a reference to pop culture, with others including the volume going up to 11 in reference to Spinal Tap and a special screen that makes it appear like the Model S has turned into the Lotus submarine from the classic James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
