2016 Honda Civic Coupe Nabs Top Safety Award From IIHS
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has sent the Civic Coupe into a wall, producing the highest crash test results possible.
Just like its four-door brother, the Honda Civic Coupe has been given the Top Safety Pick Plus award but only when equipped with the optional front-crash prevention system.
The coupe scored the top rating of ‘good’ in every crash test category including the small overlap front test, the moderate overlap test, side crash tests, roof strength tests and for its head restraints and seats.

The Honda Civic Coupe’s optional front crash prevention system was able to completely avoid a collision at both 12 and 25 mph, earning it a superior rating. In order to wear the ‘Plus’ moniker, front crash prevention must be rated at least ‘advanced.’
