BMW’s M division is going to work on the M2 to make it even hotter.

According to German publication Auto Motor und Sport, BMW has green lit the M2 CSL, which could also be called the M2 GTS. Much like the larger M4 GTS, this car will get a power boost along with weight savings thanks to the use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber.

Overall, the CSL model will sit lower and wider than the existing M2 to help it handle at the race track, while a new suspension will be installed that will likely include adjustable dampers and coil overs. A more aggressive aerodynamics kit will also be part of the package with a new large rear wing and front splitter helping to shove the little M2 into the ground.

The standard M2 has a 365-horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, which could be cranked up to about 400 hp for the CSL model, likely giving the car a sub-four second run to 60 mph.
