A Koenigsegg One:1 has crashed on the Nurburgring.

An image of the wrecked Koenigsegg One:1 first appeared on Instagram and now the Swedish automaker has confirmed that it occurred during testing as part of Industry Pool at the world-famous track. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital and was released the same afternoon.

The company has participated in Industry Pool testing for a week in each of the last two months, working on vehicle setups for ongoing vehicle development and towards a possible Nurburgring lap record in the future.

Although the company is “dismayed with this development,” it is pleased that the safety systems in the Koenigsegg One:1 worked as designed to protect the driver.
