BMW could be readying another special edition M4 model.

Spy photographers have caught a BMW M4 sporting an extreme aero package, hinting that a model that bridges the gap between the M4 and M4 GTS could be in the works.

There’s an aggressive front splitter to go along with its massive rear wing and diffuser, while the side skirts feature air channels. It’s likely that this is an early prototype since the BMW M4 is getting a facelift and none of those styling changes are seen here.

The prototype was spied testing near the Nurburgring, and it’s a strong possibility that there’s no camouflage being used as it could affect the aerodynamics during testing. Expect to see and hear more about what BMW is developing in the coming months.
