2017 BMW 5 Series Sheds Some Camouflage as It Gets Ready for Debut

The 2017 BMW 5 Series could debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

Spy photographers have caught two prototypes testing and based on their exhaust tips, there are different powertrains lurking underneath their hoods. A bit of camouflage has been removed from both vehicles and it’s now easier to see the new LED daytime running lights on the sedan.

The German automaker hasn’t confirmed the new 5 Series will debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show at the end of the month, but it’s appearing likely based on the latest spy photos. The luxury sedan will ride on BMW’s new CLAR platform, so expect it to shed a couple hundred pounds thanks to carbon fiber in the body structure.
