Canadians are getting their first glimpse of spring after a long winter, and some drivers may have gone a bit overboard on their first big drive of the season.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have impounded 12 luxury cars and have charged the drivers with stunt driving over the weekend after they were caught on a highway north of Toronto engaging in an alleged street race. CTV News says the drivers also had their licenses suspended for seven days and will each have to pay a minimum $2,000 fine.

More than 50 cars were pulled over, but only 12 were impounded. Among the seized cars are a Lamborghini Huracan, Audi R8, BMW M3, Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Jaguar XF, a Ferrari, an Aston Martin and even a Rolls-Royce. It appears the group was participating in something called the North Face Rally.

Reports say some of the drivers believe they were unfairly targeted and will be fighting the charges.

Who knew Canadians could be so hardcore?

Here are some Instagram posts from the rally:

It is not fair to label all Canadians "hardcore" by the actions of a few pernicious psychopaths. Most Canadians are hardworking, fun-loving and decent people. Not at all like the vicious newsmakers in Ontario, obviously seeking only to menace and threaten a great many via a cooperative mainstream media ("...will each have to pay a minimum $2,000 fine", as if they were the Queen on the Bench themselves.) However this shouldn't raise any eyebrows. Anytime you have a gang of criminals (otherwise known as people calling themselves government) you can be assured of the eventual taking of lives and property by force. Albeit this time only the latter, fortunately for the drivers. Much will be determined by how the victims react to this assault. Will they meekly pay the hefty "fines" and slink away with tails between their legs? Or will they step up and simply demand that the armed criminal gang provide legal evidence that whatever laws were cited, apply to them (or to anyone, for that matter)? That there ever was a duty and obligation to obey such edicts, as if issued by Zeus or Odin themselves. Freedom is never given. It can only be earned.

The ones who follow the statist religion think that the law applies because it says it applies, "you're on this geographic spot so it just does". Circular reasoning, which is so popular with knaves, klowns and kriminals.
