2018 BMW M5 Teased Ahead of Its Reveal Next Week

BMW has announced it will unveil the all-new M5 on August 21.

To get you excited, the German automaker posted a brief teaser video that you can watch below, giving a short glimpse at its next-generation performance sedan. In the post on Facebook, BMW also called it the “all-new BMW M5 with M xDrive,” confirming it will be all-wheel drive. It will however, also feature a mode that sends all the power to the rear wheels, similar to Mercedes-AMG’s Drift Mode on the E63.

Rumor has it that the twin-turbo V8 lurking under the hood will generate around 600 horsepower while paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. After being introduced next week, the 2018 BMW M5 will be on display at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

    Still a bit sad about "8-speed auto"... Will be interesting to see how this fares against Tesla SP100D (and XP100D).
