Lexus may have been spied testing an even hotter version of the RC F.

Spy photographers caught this Lexus RC F prototype testing at the Nurburgring, wearing camouflage to conceal enhancements the Japanese automaker is testing. It’s currently unclear whether this is a more hardcore version of the existing RC F or if Lexus is already working on minor changes to the car’s exterior, but it does sport a modified front lip and rear bumper, which appears to be incorporating a rear diffuser.

Although it’s hard to tell, the rear track does look slightly wider on the prototype, suggesting Lexus is making some changes to the RC F so it can better compete with the BMW M5, Mercedes-AMG C-Class models, and the Audi RS5.

It’s most likely this is an appearance package for the Lexus RC F, offering buyers more choice.
