Honda Expands Recall on Already Recalled Cars
An official statement is still to come, but Honda is expanding on a previous recall that involves a group of cars that have already been recalled.
The first recall on the recalled cars was announced in September, and now according to Automotive News, the Japanese automaker will be expanding on it. The initial recall said replacement parts for Takata airbag inflators may have been improperly installed on 646 vehicles, but that figure will now grow. Honda, however, declined to specify how many additional vehicles the expanded recall will cover, but a spokesperson did say it was “a very small number.”

The previous recall included the 2008-2012 Accord, 2010-2012 Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2012 Fit, 2010-2012 Insight, and 2009-2012 Pilot. An unspecified model will be added as part of the expanded recall.
Honda has already notified dealers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on the expanded recall but is waiting for a formal response from NHTSA before releasing an official statement.

My mom took her 2009 Honda Fit to the dealer for the airbag recall in April and both airbags were replaced. The driver's side airbag was recalled summer last year and the passenger side early this year.
