After teasing the vehicle prior to its debut, the Aria Group has unveiled its first-ever production supercar – the 1,150 hp Aria FXE.

You probably haven’t heard of the Aria Group before, but if you’re a car fan, you’re almost definitely familiar with their work. They help Singer produce its wild 911 reimaginations and have also built concept vehicles for automakers like the Kia Stinger GT4 and the Honda FC Sport.

With a resume like that, it’s no surprise that Aria’s first production supercar appears to be rather well executed. Sitting midship is a 720 horsepower version of the LT4 Small Block V8 that powers the C7 Corvette Z06. The automaker is still searching for a dual-clutch transmission that’s up to the task of dealing with the Small Block’s massive amounts of torque, but we hear Xtrac is the most likely supplier. Joining the LT4 engine is a dual-motor front e-axle and a 10 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which adds another 540 hp to the equation – bringing the total output for this all-wheel-drive package to a dizzying 1,150 hp and 1,316 lb-ft of torque.

Those power figures have resulted in some profound performance statistics. Aria claims it will sprint from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 mph. With a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and carbon fiber body panels, the FXE is also relatively light for a hybrid – tipping the scales at 3,450 lbs. It also features HRE centerlock wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R Color Series rubber.

Deliveries of the Aria FXE are set to commence in late 2019. The price should be over $1 million, and production will be capped at 400 units total.

It's nice. It looks a little like a sexed-up Americanized Acura NSX (with a Corvette powertrain underneath), and to me, none of that is a bad thing.

Except that it's a copy, and copies are never as good as the original. Also keeping in mind that the car isn't even finished yet, and is also untested, so it looks like a case of over promising/under delivering. For that kind of money, I'd rather have a proven Hyper-car; preferably one with an actual transmission.
