2020 Volvo V60 Spotted for the First Time in Sweden
The 2020 Volvo V60 wagon has been spotted for the first time undergoing testing in Sweden.
The new V60 will be one of the first vehicles to be launched under the automaker’s new electrification product strategy, which will see all of its models switch to a hybrid powertrain from 2019 onward. The wagon will ride on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture, which serves in just about every new Volvo product, including the XC60 and XC90 crossovers.
The driver of the V60 wasn’t entirely pleased with the photographer taking pictures of the prototype and tried to get in the way of the camera. Nonetheless, you can still make out the signature vertical Volvo grille, narrow headlamps and vertically mounted taillamps. Not surprisingly, it looks as though the V60 will take on the appearance of a shrunken-down V90.

Powering the V60 could be Volvo’s upcoming T5 twin-engine powertrain, which is made up of a single electric motor and a three-cylinder 1.5-liter engine. The powertrain should make around 180 hp when it arrives in the XC40 in 2019, and we’d expect a similar output for the V60.
Look for the new Volvo V60 to debut sometime in early 2019 before going on sale later in the year.
