BMW has released a teaser image of the 8 Series Gran Coupe Concept ahead of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

Rumors surfaced last week that BMW was preparing an 8 Series Gran Coupe Concept for Geneva, and it appears we now have proof. BMW’s official Twitter account today posted a render of the new concept car’s side profile, revealing its svelte bodywork and elongated hood. With large wheels and a ducktail-style spoiler, it also seems possible that the concept is actually an M8 Gran Coupe and not just a standard 8 Series. Interestingly, it appears to have four doors.

Stay tuned.

The BMW M8 is already racing in the IMSA WeatherTech championship and contested the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona in June. The GTE-spec racecar gives us a good idea of what to expect from the production M8, which will feature a 592 hp 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Also present will be the eight-speed automatic transmission found in the current M5, along with BMW’s M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
