A peek into your Amazon carts revealed that one person purchased 23 one-ounce tubes of Permatex anti-seize lubricant.

That’s quite the endorsement from an AutoGuide reader. We have just one suggestion, if you had bought two 12-packs and a single, you could have saved $38.

Made to prevent galling, seizing and corrosion, this Permatex lubricant contains a blend of aluminum, copper and graphite compounds. Routinely used in the maintenance of automobiles, boats and motorcycles, this anti-seize lubricant has a high-quality grease base that can withstand temperatures from -60 to 1600 Fahrenheit. The lubricating solids are suspended in the grease base, which won’t harden or evaporate in extreme temperatures.

Apply it to ensure easy removal of spark plugs, cylinder heads, and exhaust port bolts and studs. Just be careful not to get it on your clothes or any other porous surface as cleanup can be a nightmare.

Permatex 81343 anti-seize lubricant one-ounce tube, $4.93, Amazon

It's a great product but why is this topic news worthy among all others that could be displayed? Just wondering...

Hi Mark, This post is part of our Readers' Picks series. As the commerce editor, I take a look at what products readers are buying and what brands they trust and create posts based around that reporting. Because it's a new initiative we haven't created a category for these posts yet. We're working on finding a proper home for these posts so they're not crowding up the news feed. Once the team is back from Geneva we should have a solution. Thanks for reading!
