How the Internet Reacted to the 2020 Toyota Supra: Not Well

The 2020 Toyota Supra has finally made its debut after a lengthy and exhaustive hype campaign.

Developed alongside the new BMW Z4, the A90 Toyota Supra is a two-seater that shares many of its parts with the closely related German roadster. Under its hood is a 335-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six BMW engine, which sends power to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Toyota is quoting a 0-60 mph time of around 4.1s, along with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

While those statistics are certainly enough to ensure the new Supra will be fun to drive, some Supra fans on the internet were disappointed that it did not have more power or a Toyota-sourced engine. Some were also unsure about the looks, while others were quick to deride the $50,000 price tag. The takes weren’t all negative, though, with level heads pointing out that we should be happy Toyota is making another sports car and saying they will wait to drive it to make their judgments.
