Certain 2019 model year Jaguar E-Pace crossovers may have been delivered with faulty infotainment systems that are missing important features like navigation and Apple CarPlay, forcing the automaker to issue a stop sale on the crossover in October 2018 that has now been lifted.

A user on one of our forums, EPaceForum.com, recently authored a post indicating that their 2019 E-Pace was delivered missing functions like navigation, live weather, and sports updates, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, the user received a call from Jaguar Land Rover’s head office, who told them that certain 2019 E-Pace VINs had left the factory missing the “InControl Pack and Smart Settings.” The module cannot be retrofitted into the vehicles, either, leaving buyers stuck with a luxury car that has no navigation.

According to a JLR document uploaded by the forum user, the automaker is offering customers affected by this problem $600 in options credit as compensation. The document also indicates that all 2019 model year Jaguar E-Pace S, SE and HSE models up to VIN SADFJ2FX6K1Z43230 are affected by the problem and that “a detailed VIN list will be issued” to dealerships shortly.

Jaguar has provided a comment on the stop-sale, which was briefly issued in October of 2018 and has now been resolved. Its statement follows.

“A small quantity of cars left the UK without the Connect Pro Pack — this includes functionality for features like InControl Pro Services, WiFi HotSpot and Smart Settings — which are required for Apple Car Play and Android Auto to function correctly,” a JLR spokesperson said in an email. “Adding this pack is not something that can be retrofitted, so the decision has been made to proactively communicate this to potential buyers (of vehicles at retailers) and offer a $600 credit in lieu of the content.”
