2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Review: First Drive

I’m not going to tell you the Mach-E is the most important new vehicle Ford is launching this year. It isn’t: on a strictly numbers basis, that title belongs to the redesigned F-150, newly available in hybrid format. I don’t think the Mach-E has built up the most hype of the Blue Oval’s new batch, either. The reborn Bronco has avoided much of the controversy of this all-electric, four-door crossover. Blame the name: Ford must’ve known it’d rile up traditionalists by sticking that iconic horse badge on this EV. But long-term, the Mach-E has a much heavier burden than either of its siblings. Just as Star Wars redefined the Hollywood formula in 1977, the Mach-E needs to convince the public a mainstream legacy automaker can play in the EV realm.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Review: Honestly, Why Not?

A good friend of mine owns a 4-door  Jeep JK Wrangler. True story, it was the first manual transmission he ever owned, so he learned to drive manual as he was driving it off the lot. I once helped him put a full snowmobile into the back of his Wrangler. I’m made to understand he’s not unique in his treatment of his SUV like a pickup. So, if you were shopping for a Wrangler, why wouldn’t you buy Gladiator?

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S Review: Muscle Utility Vehicle

It takes no more than a few hundred feet for this muscle-bound Merc to elicit the first of many laughs from me. Mere weeks earlier I found myself in the GLC 43, and that SUV’s near-400 horses felt—at the time anyway—like more than enough. But another pair of cylinders, 118 more horsepower, and an exhaust note fit for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame makes a very convincing argument otherwise.
