Frank Stella Painted BMW M1 Art Car Headed To Auction
Back in the mid-1970s BMW recruited artists to paint their race cars, which eventually lead them do some road-cars. Artists such as Andy Warhol and Alexander Calder did one-off designs which brought both the car-maker and the artists much publicity. However, all the art-cars commissioned by BMW themselves sit in a museum and are unlikely to ever be sold.

BMW M1 For Sale on EBay, 30 Years Old But 'Like New'
Looking to spend over $150,000 on a true collectible? This 1980 BMW M1 was spotted on eBay sporting quite the price tag, but with good reason. Not only is it just one of 456 M1s ever produced, the original owner of this vehicle has kept it completely pristine and it only sports 2,745 miles on the odometer. The vehicle is completely stock and unrestored, its original Henna Red still shining brilliantly.

Malaise-Era Supercars: As Fast As You Remember?
After all, every time we see a Countach out in the wild, we drop what we are doing, watch, and listen to it go by, remembering those posters. But one thing we may have forgotten is how fast they actually went? Or, more importantly, how slow they are by today’s standards. Yes, it’s been 30 years and cars have come a long way. But we still think of a Countach as a fast car, right? Not when you consider the fact that a 2011 base, V6 Mustang will outperform it in most areas.

Spied: BMW 1 Series M (M1) Caught Testing on the Nrburgring [with Video]
BMW reps will be hard pressed to deny the existence of a high-performance 1 Series thanks to some new spy photos (and video) that have been captured of the uncovered car lapping the Nürburgring.
What is obvious from the photos are some M3 design cues, some big wheels (reminiscent of the M3 Competition package wheels) and who could miss those massive flared fenders out back – indicating some larger rubber is probably in order to deal with the added power. As for what kind of power this car might make, it’s anyone’s guess. The M3 V8 is most certainly not an option, so expect to see a powerplant similar to the one in the 335is, making 320-hp and 332 ft-lbs of torque (370 ft-lbs for a limited time). Other items rumored to be included are a limited slip differential and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
It’s not yet clear if BMW will name this car the 135is or perhaps the 1 Series M.
