In the latest of an ongoing series of technical briefings Ford showcased some of the advanced technology going in the brand-new 2015 Mustang. Some high-end driver-assistance features will be made available for the first time in addition to a host of new standard equipment.

If it weren’t so loud and socially inappropriate, this Chevrolet Camaro’s exhaust roar would make a great ringtone. Then again, being loud and offensive is why it’s cool.

In any case, the video below shows Late Model Racecraft’s project F-body Camaro hitting 253.1 mph after smoking its tires. The intro is set to a remixed version of the instrumentals from Metallica’s “The Unforgiven,” which electrifies the already vicious video.

If you’re a fan of the loud, the agressive, the muscular cars that command attention both in person and on film then this video is for you.

What’s especially nice is how we see and hear the car roaring up to the stated speed from the cabin instead of a bunch of boring trackside angles with the car blowing past.

We spoke to Josh Ledford, co-owner of Late Model Racecraft, who told us that the Camaro in the video recently rated 1,800 horsepower on 28 lbs of boost. In the standing mile video the car was only running 22 pounds from its 82 mm twin turbos which force air down the throat of an LSX Talldeck performance engine.

“I think we were having trouble with our boost controller that day,” he said. “We ran 250 [mph] four times that day, back to back to back. I think we’re the only people to do that.”
