There’s nothing more American than a good old-fashioned road trip. And right now, more Americans than ever before are choosing to take that road trip abroad – by ordering an International Driving Permit and exploring the world via highway.

Before the VW Golf GTI ushered in a new era of practical cars that were fun to drive, the only way to get any thrills behind the wheel was either very expensive supercars or cheap and cheerful roadsters from Britain, Italy, or maybe even Japan.

Before we dive into our next comparison, we thought we’d provide a little update on the Honda CR-V‘s service as the AutoGuide.com shuttle extraordinaire.

After winning its first comparison against the Mercedes-Benz C300, we took the Audi A4 out for a bit of a road trip, where we played around with the Audi Virtual Cockpit and MMI infotainment system.

For such an “underpowered” car, the Toyota 86 sure pulled like a champ.

It’s been a busy summer for our long-term Mazda crossover, racking up thousands of miles all around North America, making road trips with the Yarkony clan on our big camping adventure, and then serving as the chariot of choice for our former video producer Anthony Delacruz on a trip down to NYC.
