Federal Emission Defect and Performance Warranty

The typical manufacturer warranty offers bumper-to-bumper coverage for 3 years/36,000 miles and powertrain protection for 5 years/60,000 miles. Hyundai doubles the standard powertrain protection length and nearly doubles new vehicle coverage, so the manufacturer’s claim of offering “America’s best warranty” is not an overstatement, although manufacturers including Kia and Mitsubishi offer the same term limits.
Only parts that malfunction as the result of use are covered under the following warranties. This means that damage that results from an accident, misuse, or neglect (failing to maintain your Hyundai in accordance with the factory-recommended maintenance schedule) is not covered under warranty.
The Hyundai warranty also includes protection for wear items such as belts, brake pads and linings, clutch linings, filters, wiper blades, bulbs, and fuses. These are items typically excluded from warranty coverage altogether. However, only one year of coverage is offered for these items, and they are unlikely to wear out in that time anyway. Certified Pre-Owned Hyundai Warranty
Even used Hyundai vehicles are protected under warranty. Hyundais that pass a 173-point inspection are sold as certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles. CPO Hyundais are covered by the remainder of the 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, as well as a 10-year/100,00-mile CPO Limited Warranty, which covers the powertrain.
Also included with CPO Hyundai warranty coverage are the following benefits:
