2010 Subaru Outback And Legacy Recalled For Defective Steering Component

Subaru is recalling 70,000 2010 Legacy and Outback models due to a defective steering column electrical roll connector. A broken wire within this component can cause the airbags, paddle shifters, horn or steering wheel audio controls to malfunction.

A Subaru spokesperson told Inside Line that the recall resulted in no injuries and the fix takes roughly an hour. In May, Subaru recalled nearly 30,000 of these vehicles to replace a fault hose in the CVT gearbox.

I had this repair done at Lithia Subaru in Reno. The problem is that now my steering wheel does not line up with my tires. The steering wheel is turned to the right when the wheels are straight. Is this a common complaint and what should I do now- I plan to take it back to the dealer but this is time that is difficult for me to take off.
