Maybe it’s just been that long since Toyota has worked on a new sports car, but it looks like their collaboration with Subaru on the GT 86/BRZ/ Scion FR-S may have just been the beginning. Toyota is already considering two additional models to their sports car lineup, one that would be slotted below the GT 86 and another would be upmarket, possibly a Supra successor.

I would like to have one smaller and one larger,” said Tada. “One would probably be a Supra follower. Nothing has been decided yet. It would [be] like a Supra successor,” Tetsuya Tada, GT 86 chief engineer told Drive.

Of course there’s no confirmation from Toyota on whether or not a Supra successor will exist or even if they’ll really be working on a pair of new models to go with their GT 86. It’ll be interesting to see what else could come from the Toyota and Subaru collaboration, as the GT 86/BRZ/FR-S is clearly going to be a success.
