Luxury styling, AMG performance and compact car sensibility will all be rolled into one package as the Mercedes-Benz A25 AMG, something that has the breadth of enthusiasts excited. Rumored to be in the works, these spy photos are the first confirmation that such a car is being prepped for launch.

The Spy photos that show us almost unmasked details of the new hot hatch came our way today. Last week we reported that the A25 AMG would have all-wheel drive and a turbocharged four cylinder engine making 335 hp.

Those figures place the little Merc in line to outpace the Audi RS3’s performance, though it isn’t clear exactly when we’ll be graced with the little hotrod.

We received confirmation from the automaker last month during the Geneva Motor Show that the coveted A-Class would, in fact, be coming to market in the U.S., but we’re not sure exactly when.

If history is anything to base assumptions on, we probably won’t get a sip of the hotter AMG version until European consumers get a long drink from the well.

For now, have a look at our first glance of what’s sure to be an interesting entrant to the compact segment.
