The newest rendition of World Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Mustang RTR has just been revealed, available in two trim levels: Spec 1 and Spec 2.

The 2010 Formula Drift champion has been campaigning Ford‘s Mustang for several years now, and the RTR is a result of Gittin Jr.’s take on what a street Mustang should be like. For the new 2013 Mustang RTR, the American automaker along with Vaughn Gittin Jr. has revamped both appearance and performance, with an option to obtain up to 624-hp.

For the Spec 1 package, which is priced at $6,250, V6 and V8 Mustang owners get the RTR appearance package (chin spoiler, aluminum rear spoiler, badging, 19-inch wheels, Falken tires), Ford Racing 10.1-inch lowering springs, and RTR axle-back exhaust system. It’s worth noting that the RTR appearance package isn’t the complete package that’s found on the Spec 2; the Spec 1 is missing the rear diffuser, RTR rocker splitters, and deck lid applique. Spec 1 buyers can also opt for RTR striping.

As for the $11,995 Spec 2 package, the complete RTR appearance package is outfitted onto the Mustang (including all of the previously mentioned parts), a Ford Racing tune, Ford Racing adjustable shocks, 1.0-inch or 1.5-inch lowering springs, RTR four-way adjustable front and rear sway bars, RTR adjustable panhard bar, RTR rear chassis brace, and RTR axle-back exhaust system.

Optional for the Spec 2 package is either 525-hp or 624-hp thanks to a Ford Racing supercharger system. The Mustang RTR is only available at select premium Ford dealerships.

“I couldn’t be any more excited with the traction and reception of RTR since its introduction just two short years ago,” says Vaughn. “We will continue to push the envelope and give our customers a fun, aggressive-looking car to drive and a family that they are excited to be a part of well into the future. We are just getting the RTR party started!”
