SCCA and Pirelli World Challenge will be adding a B-Spec Shootout at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, which will kick off on September 20th at Road America.

Even though B-Spec is not an official 2012 SCCA National class, it will run within the Showroom Stock C race on Thursday, September 20th. The move undoubtedly gives B-Spec racers more exposure and thanks to the collaboration with Pirelli World Challenge, top winners will receive $3,000 and all entry fees for the 2013 Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car B will be waived. Runner-up in the class will get $1,500 and third place will receive $500. In addition to the cash prize, second and third place finishers will have get a single two-race entry fee, and a single-race entry fee waived.

Of course winners will also get media exposure with a full post-race podium celebration, coverage on SCCA.com, and coverage on the Runoffs broadcast on SpeedcastTV.com.

“We know through our initial foray with Touring Car-B that the B-Spec concept is a great, cost-effective way to race modern production-based cars,” Pirelli World Challenge President and CEO Scott Bove said. “This is another way for Pirelli World Challenge to support the development of the concept as it concludes its first full season of competition.”
