Now available for lease in select California and Oregon markets, Honda delivered its 2013 Fit EV to Matt and Becky Walton of Ventura County, Calif.

With an EPA-rated 118 MPGe, the Honda Fit EV is only available as a $389 per month lease for three years – you can read our review on the Honda Fit EV here. The Southern California couple took delivery of the first Honda Fit EV at the Woodland Hills Honda dealership, and they were the first registrants to sign up to lease the Fit EV on Honda’s website. The couple has a long standing history with owning Honda vehicles, including a classic N600 sedan and a Z600 coupe in the 1970s, to the Odyssey they currently own.

“It’s truly an honor to take delivery of the first Honda Fit EV and participate in the advancement of all-electric vehicles in the real world,” said Walton. “The Honda Fit EV is not only a sustainable and energy efficient transportation option with the highest fuel-efficiency rating of any EV, but it has the added bonus of being fun-to-drive and can fully recharge from empty in less than three hours.”

The Japanese automaker will be expanding the availability of the Fit EV to the East Coast early next year.
