Seeing demand for special edition models within an already niche segment, Jeep has announced two new versions of its Grand Cherokee SRT8 for the 2013 model year.

Joining the ridiculously powerful SUV range will be the ‘Alpine’ and ‘Vapor’ special edition models, the former using a bright white paint coat, while the latter gets a shiny black surface. Both models will feature Black Vapor Chrome finish split-spoke 5-spoke wheels and other unique exterior trim items.

All SRT8 models will continue to be powered by the brand’s 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 470 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds.

While fast, Jeep is also looking to make its sport truck more fuel efficient with a new valve exhaust system that will allow the engine’s standard cylinder deactivation technology to operate in 4-cylidner mode more often. New fuel economy numbers have yet to be announced.

Additional upgrades include standard paddle shifters for the SRT leather wrapped steering wheel.
