Chevy will unveil its all new 2014 Silverado before the Detroit Auto Show at a special event held on December 13 in Detroit.

The Silverado is all new for 2014 and including fresh sheet metal and engines. The teaser shows new projector-beam headlamps to modernize the truck’s styling, keeping up current RAM and Ford products.

GM confirmed that a new-generation of V8 small block engines will be offered, all of which will use direct injection. From the beginning, a six-speed transmission will be offered in the truck, but an eight-speed is said to be under development and will be ready sometime after the truck is released.

Look for the new Silverado to make its first public appearance at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

Appears they might be adding HID headlight option. It's about time they offered these lights on more Chevy cars as well, at least add them to the options list of top Malibu and Cruze models and I'd really like to see them available on the Caprice! It would be cool if they made them available as accessory's for all models, it's never been done before at Chevy's price level and would attract sales. I speak for all cars!
