BMW officially unveiled its new 4 Series Concept this week, which raised an important question: will there also be an M4?

Not surprisingly, the answer is yes. There will be an M4.

The 4 Series is just a new name for the 3 Series coupe, though it gets its own style and a slightly larger wheelbase, as well as a lowered roofline. Most importantly, BMW has confirmed that the M3 will not be replaced by the M4, and that both cars will be produced together.

Specs are still unknown, but it is expected that both cars will share one heart, a tri-turbo 6-cylinder engine that has already been confirmed for the M3. It is expected to make about 450 hp.
