Porsche Panamera Update Spied Testing

Today, spy photos of an updated Porsche Panamera offer the first hint at the tweaks the German brand is planning for its popular sport sedan.

Rumored to take cues from the Sport Turismo concept seen last September during the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the photos seen here show revised tail lights without divulging much about the front end.

The rear will get predictable changes that put it in line with the 2013 Boxster’s new back end. One of the photos below shows both the current and upcoming generation Panamera for an easy comparison.

It would certainly make sense to see the Panamera adopt design cues from the Sport Turismo concept given the obvious similarities between the two. When those changes might come into play remains a mystery.

Keeping in mind that the car pictured here is a test mule and likely not a production-ready car, these photos really don’t lend themselves to the Sport Turismo’s wild front end. The headlights aren’t shaped correctly and they don’t have the same spear-like elements.

Air ducts on either side of the car’s mouth are covered, but LED running lights show through to look an awful lot like the Boxster.
