BMW is recalling over 30,000 X5 SUVs with the V8 engine because of a potential problem with the brakes.

The affected cars were built between 2007 and 2010 and might have a problem with the power braking system. A leak in the vacuum hose that connects the vacuum pump to the brake booster could leak and compromise the car’s braking ability.

Losing power braking doesn’t mean the car can’t stop, just that it will be more difficult for the driver to slow down. According to BMW, it hasn’t received any reports of injuries as a result of the potential failure.

BMW will notify owners with affected vehicles and fix the flaw free of charge through its dealer network.
