Car Vandalism Claims Double on Halloween

Make sure to store your car in your garage if you can tonight, as car vandalism claims are nearly twice as much as usual on Halloween.

A recent analysis from the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) discovered that Halloween has the highest average number of claims with 1,253. The average number of claims per day from 2008 through 2012 was 692 with the average cost per claim being $1,528.

Other holidays with high vandalism claims are the Fourth of July (987) and New Year’s (944). As for holidays with below average vandalism: Thanksgiving and Christmas.
