Chevrolet is recalling 1,658 Sonic vehicles for a gas tank issue.

According to the American automaker, some Sonic vehicles may have left the factory with faulty welds on the straps that attach the fuel tank to the vehicle. As a result, the fuel tank could fall off the car. Affected model years are 2013 and 2014, though many of the vehicles included in the recall are still on dealership lots.
