Kia is planning to “raise the bar” in the minivan segment with the 2015 Sedona, which is set to be revealed next week during the 2014 New York Auto Show.

The 2015 Sedona will feature a new chassis and the 3.3-liter V6 also found in Kia’s new Sorento crossover. Expect the engine to make 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. There will also be space for up to eight passengers, which is an increase over the previous model.

Kia will also kick in its new “UVO” infotainment system and, of course, fresh styling similar to the rest of the product line. That will include the company’s “tiger nose” grille, back-swept headlights and more chiseled-looking sides if that term can really be applied to a minivan in the first place.
