The folks at Ford might be mulling an MPV for the North American market.

AutoGuide.com’s spy photographers spotted Ford testing its S-Max covered in heavy camouflage in the Michigan earlier today. The comapny currently sells the S-Max in Europe, but could serve as a replacement to the aging Flex crossover in Ford’s lineup.

Sort of a mix between a minian and a crossover, the S-Max could be powered by a range of Ford powertrains including Ford’s 1.6- and 2.0-liter EcoBoost four cylinder mills and the hybrid powertrain all offered in the C-Max.

Ford showed a concept preview of the next version during the Frankfurt Motor Show last year wearing its new corporate face, following others inlcuding the Fusion, Mustang and 2015 Focus.
