Most Researched Cars of the Week: August 9 – 16
Pickup trucks dominated AutoGuide.com’s search subjects this past week, with the new 2014 Chevy Silverado in particular gaining a lot of attention, though a few small sports cars also proved to be popular.
The Silverado was redesigned from the ground up for 2014, and has been lauded for its smoother ride and quiet interior. Three engines are available with GM’s half-ton pickup, either a V6, a 5.3-liter V8 or a huge 6.2-liter V8. Another new pickup was also hot last week, the new 2015 Ford F-150. Not yet available for sale, the new F-150 promises to be a great pickup truck thanks to massive weight loss and new EcoBoost engines. Besides this, a bevy of new features inside and out, like a 360-degree camera and removable tie down mounts in the bed, are attracting loads of attention.
It wasn’t just pickup trucks that were on reader’s minds though, as the small Ford Fiesta ST also had many looking into it. With 197 hp and a whopping 214 lb-ft of torque, this small hatchback is a corner carver and still remains practical thanks to its five door layout. But everyone knows that sports cars are usually coupes, and that’s why the Scion FR-S still gains tons of search attention. Though many claim that the car in underpowered, the FR-S is still one of the best handling affordable cars on the market, and it looks like a classic sports car.
Finally, wrapping up the search list is another pickup truck from Chevrolet, the 2015 Colorado. This new small pickup is looking to reignite the compact truck market in the US, and will be available with a diesel engine one year after it launches. Taking the fight to the long-time segment leading Toyota Tacoma, does the new Chevy Colorado have what it takes to dethrone the little Toyota?
