A teaser image posted on Twitter from Chevrolet has given us a strong hint at what the next-generation 2016 Volt will look like.

It appears the Volt has borrowed its grilles from the Cadillac ELR, while the headlights and front fascia look sharp and angular. The 2016 Volt is set debut at the upcoming 2015 Detroit Auto Show.

While no numbers have been revealed on the car, Chevy has already announced that the new car will be powered by a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with an all-new Voltec extended range electric vehicle (EREV) propulsion system. Overall, Chevy says the 2016 Volt’s two-motor drive unit will be five to 12 percent more efficient than the current one, while weighing 100 lbs less.

That means that we can definitely expect an increase in electric and overall range from the 2016 Chevy Volt.
