If you thought the only thing missing from the Volkswagen Golf R was a manual transmission, there’s good news. You just need to wait a little bit longer than everyone else.

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R will arrive dealerships this spring but it’ll only be available with the German automaker’s Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). According to a recent report from Car and Driver, Volkswagen will add a manual transmission option to the model for the 2016 model year when that debuts next summer.

Pricing for the 2016 Volkswagen Golf R equipped with a DSG is expected to carry over but those wanting a manual transmission for the hot hatch will actually be able to save $1,100. While the manual transmission will be more fun to drive around in, expect it to be a tick slower when it comes to accelerating compared to the DSG.
